South Carolinian Jayna Cooper holds an undergraduate architecture degree from Georgia Tech. She moved to California in 2004 to augment her education with a Master of Architecture and Graduate Certificate in Historic Preservation from the University of Southern California. While at USC, Jayna was recipient of the 2005-2006 Gamble House Scholar-in-Residence Fellowship.
Jayna joined David Gray Architects in May of 2006 after a variety of internships throughout her formal education, including a 2001 co-op for NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory; 2002 summer architectural work in Belfast with the Northern Ireland Housing Executive; 2003 summer resort design in Huatulco, Mexico; 2004 summer construction work as Project Engineer for the Beckgroup; and 2005 summer competition design for CK-Architecture in Los Angeles.
Jayna spends time off exploring LA’s wide array of cuisine. She loves to travel and experiencing different cultures, photography, and a good dip in the Atlantic when she goes home.
